Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Milwaukee
The American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event to help fight against breast cancer unites nearly 300 communities to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness, and fund the fight through a noncompetitive 3-mile walk.
Relay For Life
The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to end cancer, uniting communities across the globe to fight back against the disease. Teams camp out at local schools, parks, or fairgrounds and take turns walking or running around a track or path.
The Kohl’s Healthy Families nutrition program has awarded 8 community grants throughout Milwaukee to provide workshops that highlight the importance of eating healthy to reduce cancer risk while learning how to prepare affordable and healthy foods.
Community Health Workers Conference
The 9th Annual Cancer Prevention Conference for Community Health Workers was held on March 22, 2019 at the Italian Conference Center. Participants had the opportunity to network, learn best practices, and connect cancer prevention and screening opportunities in the community.
Kohl’s Healthy Families Outreach Request
The Kohl’s Healthy Families outreach tent has engaged over 5,000 individuals annually at various community events, teaching them through fun and interactive games how eating healthy and being active reduces cancer risk.
