The American Cancer Society and Kohl’s: Partnering Against Cancer

The American Cancer Society and Kohl’s have partnered to bring you Kohl’s Healthy Families, a program dedicated to providing information and resources on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer through three components – helping families STAY WELL, GET WELL, and FIGHT BACK, as well as continue Kohl’s support of the fight against breast cancer.

The program serves the following counties in southeast Wisconsin: Racine, Kenosha, Jefferson, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Walworth, Ozaukee and Sheboygan.

The Kohl’s Healthy Families program includes:

  • Stay Well – Families can access educational materials to help them stay well through the prevention and early detection of cancer. Initiatives will help selected schools implement a structured curriculum focused on healthy eating and physical activity, creating policies, and implementing a parent community health advocate program.
  • Get Well – Patients and their loved ones can access educational materials to help them cope with a cancer diagnosis. In addition, breast cancer patients will receive support after a diagnosis through a nutrition and physical activity program, as well as specialized educational materials.
  • Fight Back – Families will have the chance to unite and fight back against cancer by participating in community-based events, including Kohl’s sponsored American Cancer Society Relay For Life and Relay Field Day events throughout southeast Wisconsin.

Kohl’s also continues their annual support of the Community Health Worker Conference and the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Milwaukee walk.
