What inspired you to make a career change into this field?
After several years of working as an architect, I decided to embark on a new journey and transition my career to become a UX/UI designer. My inspiration to make this change stems from my passion for creating meaningful, user-centric experiences.
I have always been fascinated by the intersection of design and technology, and the ability to shape digital products that enhance people’s lives. By shifting my focus to UX/UI design, I am excited to combine my creative skills, problem-solving abilities, and desire to make a positive impact on users’ interactions with technology.
What did you enjoy most about studying with CareerFoundry?
I completed the UX Design Program and specialized in Voice User Interface Design. I found the course structure engaging, as it motivates students to maintain focus and progress according to a timeline. The one-on-one sessions with my mentor and tutor were filled with valuable knowledge and provided meaningful insights for my new career.
What did you enjoy about creating your CareerFoundry portfolio project?
One aspect I particularly enjoyed was using Figma to design wireframes and clickable prototypes for my project. This allowed me to visually conceptualize and iterate on my ideas, bringing them to life in a tangible way.
Conducting interviews to collect insights for my research data was also an interesting part of my portfolio which not only expanded my professional network but also fostered connections with my peers.
With regards to your new career and skills, what are your hopes for the future?
After acquiring new skills in UX/UI design, my primary goal is to apply my knowledge to real-world projects and gain valuable experience. Having completed my training with CareerFoundry, I am eager to put my skills into practice and contribute to the development of user-centric projects.
I am determined to continue growing and refining my abilities in UX/UI design while working on meaningful projects that prioritize the needs and preferences of users.
